Top 10 Best Things to do in Dubai

Dubai is like nowhere else on the planet. For an unforgettable experience packed with glamour, luxury, lots of shopping, and a wide range of activities you need to visit Dubai at least once in your life. Here is the top 10 list of best things to do in Dubai to help you get inspired.

Go Sightseeing in style

In this extravagant city, you go sightseeing in style. Rent a luxurious Hummer limo and feel like a true VIP, while a driver takes you around the city and shows you all the highlights Dubai has to offer.

Costs: approx. 600 AED/hour

Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo

This world-renowned large-scale aquarium is located in the middle of the Dubai Mall and is on show free of charge, as well as the underwater tunnel. To see the remainder of the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo you have to buy a ticket, but it’s well worth the price if you are interested in other species of the sea. You can also see a penguin show or take a ride over the aquarium in a glass-bottom boat.

Costs: starting from 55 AED per person

Skiing in Mall of the Emirates

Skiing in the middle of the desert. Does it get crazier than this? When it’s 35 ºC outside and you need too cool off, you can always go to -10 °C within a couple of minutes and enjoy a few hours of skiing. Ski Dubai is located in the Mall of the Emirates.

Costs: 210 AED for a 2 hours slope pass

Skyline from the Burj Khalifa

Amazing! The largest building in the world. A super-fast elevator (your ears will pop!) takes you to the 124th floor of the Burj Khalifa. The entire tower consists of 163 floors, but the 124th floor is high enough to enjoy the exceptional views over the city. It is recommended to buy your tickets in advance, in order to skip the lines.

Costs: 149 AED

Dubai Fountains

The famous fountain show in front of the Burj Khalifa is probably one of the best in the world. This is a very well choreographed show with music, color and of course, water. It plays every 30 minutes in the evening and a few times in the afternoon, and it’s free!

Splash around in a Water Park

It can get very hot in Dubai, and what it’s then better to splash around in a water park? We went to Wild Wadi Water Park next to Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The park offers 30 water slides and attractions, including Burj Surj, where you sit on a tube and slide into a ‘bowl’ are hurtled into two spiraling spins before dropping into the remainder of the slide. Another great recommendation is the Jumeirah Sceirah. This slide will get the adrenaline flowing. At first, you’ll stand in a capsule with your arms and legs crossed. Then all of a sudden the floor beneath you opens and you slide down with an astonishing speed of 80 km/h. Within a few seconds, you reach the end of the 120-meter slide and you feel a rush of excitement.

Costs: 299 AED per person

Old Dubai

Often referred to as the heart and soul of the city, old Dubai is perfect to do some historical sightseeing. The Dubai Creek divides the old city center into to main sections, Deira and Bur Dubai. The historic part of town is located in Bur Dubai. You can take an abra (an old wooden boat) to cross the creek. It is a unique experience. Also don’t forget to visit the Old Souk, the Gold Souk, and the Spice Souk.
